Fit In One Minute

By Bryon Zirker

I hate waiting. I hate lines and I hate waiting
for results from some action I have taken or
implemented.

Patience is one of my weak areas. I need to be
actively doing something or I get impatient or
bored. I like things now and I like to see
results now.

How do I keep my sanity intact. Simple. Whenever
the issue of time comes up, I ignore it - or I
focus on living "one minute at a time." Not one
day. Not one hour. One minute.

I ask myself, "Can I get through one minute of
waiting in the doctors office?" "Yes I can"

Great, now I can focus on the first minute right
now and not the other several minutes that are to
come.

I have found this to work well when approaching
exercise.

Here's a tip.

When its time to exercise, just focus on the first
minute. Walk fast or hold a push up for one minute.
Can you do that? I think so.

How about one minute of deep breathing or
stretching? Yes?

By approaching exercise this way you can begin
to effect change in your body and it can actually
be fun as you do not cause yourself to much pain
in the beginning.

With this approach, not having to drag yourself
or flog yourself into it is good news. You will
naturally want to do more because it feels good.
After awhile exercise will just be a natural part
of your lifestyle.
