risk of heart disease in men. Some of the latest
research shows new evidence of the opposite.

College of Cardiologyby a Finnish group found that
testosterone levels that are healthy protect against
hardening of the arteries(Atherosclerosis).

resulted in high plaque buildupin the carotid artery
which leads to heart disease and eventuallyheart attacks.

You can boost testosterone naturally, without shots, pills,
or supplements. Here are three ways to do it:

Foods to Avoid Alert!

5 Foods You Need to Stop Eating Now

If you want to live longer and healthier, it could be
as simple as changing your diet. And in this case, it's
not so much what you eat as what you don't eat that
is most important.

Columbia University cardiologist Dr. Mehmet Oz,
co-author of "You: The Owner's Manual," told Oprah
Winfrey on a recent show that learning to read food
labels is like looking at a prescription for your health
and your life.

These are the red-flag ingredients. If you see any of
these listed on food packaging, STOP! Do not eat it.

1. Sugar

Sugar--be it in food or drinks--gives you a
sudden boost of energy that is quickly followed by
an insulin surge that causes your blood sugar level
to plummet.

The result? Two hours after eating, you feel famished
and even tired. Replace simple carbohydrates, such
as white bread or cookies, with complex carbohydrates,
such as whole grains or fruit. "Sugar is supposed to
be eaten, of course," Oz told Oprah, "but it should
come together with fat or some element like fiber--as
you would find in fruit--so you can absorb it a bit more
slowly."

2. High fructose corn syrup

This additive makes food tastes sweet, but it doesn't
work like natural cane or beet sugar. It actually affects
your body's normal ability to control your appetite.
"It blocks the ability of a chemical called leptin, which
is the way your fat tells your brain it's there," Oz
explained to Oprah. "It's not so much the 150 calories
in the soda pop--it's the fact at that same meal you will
normally consume an extra hundred calories of food than
you would have."

3. White flour (also called enriched wheat flour)

Even though white flour is "enriched," don't be fooled. It's
enriched because most of its healthy nutrients were
destroyed when it was refined. The enrichment process
puts some of those nutrients back in. "The reason
they enrich it is because they already stripped out
anything that was worth a darn in it, and they add
a little bit back so it doesn't look so bad," says Oz.
Instead, look for products made with whole grains
and whole grain flours.

4. Saturated fat

When saturated fats, which are found
primarily in animal products, are placed at room
temperature, they become solid--like lard. While
it's great to use as furniture polish and even lotion
for your skin, you don't want to eat it. Think what
it will do to your arteries!

5. Hydrogenated oil

When oil is hydrogenated it turns
into a solid at room temperature, allowing for a longer
shelf life. Basically, it won't go bad. But that makes
the oil unhealthy to eat. Products that contain
hydrogenated oil are labeled as "trans fats."
What can you eat? Dr. Oz encourages you to cook
with healthy oils, such as olive, sesame seed, flaxseed,
grape seed and canola. The best foods you can eat are
garlic, tomato sauce, spinach, raw nuts and pomegranates.

Tuna, Hmmmm! Should You?

By Bryon Zirker

Mercury is a toxin that is more common than you might
think.Traces of this deadly toxin can be found in seafood.
Landmark Laboratories did a study on 164 cans of tuna
from around the world.

What they discovered was that tuna from Latin America
specifically Ecuador and Mexico-had the highest concentration
level ofmercury. The reason is that fisherman in these areas
gather the oldestand largest tuna which have had longer
exposure to mercury.

The fact that tuna is a great source of needed protein and
omega fatty acids for good health. Do not be afraid to enjoy
tuna for fear of mercury.

Two companies that specialize in line caught, small, sashimi
grade albacore tuna are Vital Choice and Oregon choice. It
is cooked in the can which preserves the omega’s and it is
naturally low in mercury.

By Bryon Zirker

We have all heard that Green Tea is a great source for
powerful antioxidants. Recent research reveals that it
is a very strong weapon for fighting cancer.

The International Journal of Cancer states that a Chinese
research group led by a DR. Ann W. Hsing found this:

Women that consumed onecup of Green Tea per day for
a minimum of six months lowered the risk of gallbladder
cancer (44 percent), bile stones (27 percent), bile duct
cancer (35 percent).

The report by Dr. Hsing stated that Green Tea contains
chemicals that might prevent abnormal cell growth
( this is the start of cancer).

Stay away from store bought Green Tea drinks and brew
it yourself for optimal health. This way you avoid the

Some of the latest research have brought to light that you can lower
the chance of getting kidney cancer by consuming select fruits and
veggies.

Researchers in Sweden tracking some 60000+ women between the ages of
40 to 76 over an average of thirteen years showed that those eating

the risk by 50-60 percent. Leafy greens and cucumbers were linked to a
lower risk of cancer as well.

Aging? Slow Down the Process

By Bryon Zirker

Some good news for the occasional drinker.
A study by the U.S. Institute on Aging showed
that men and women ages 70-79 who consume
one up to seven alcoholic beverages per week
had a lower risk of death (26 percent lower) and
lower risk of heart attack (30 percent lower).

An alternative to drinking in order to slow
the aging process however, would be to take
Vitamin C, proven to slow the loss of telomere
by 62 percent.

Never heard of telomere? Its Ok most people
have not. When your cells divide, a portion of
your DNA on the end of the chromosome is lost.
This is the telomere. How many times your cells
divide is determined by this little portion of
your DNA.

When your cells stop dividing you die. So cell
division determines lifespan.

Taking 500mg of vitamin C twice daily in order
to slow the shortening of the telomere is
recommended. This can add years to your life.
Taking 4,000 to 6,000 mg's of vitamin C per day
will give you maximum protection.
